Nordic technology leadership agreement
A framework for a strategic leadership agreement on SAP NetWeaver is signed this week between Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and SAP Nordic. The overall objective is to enable the enterprise community throughout the Nordic region to profit from this open and integrative platform by allowing them to become more agile and evolve their business processes.
16 February 2004
Once every 5 – 10 years, we experience a wave of technology innovation. To bring another wave of innovation into the market, SAP is now initiating a new era with a services-based architecture. As preferred partner in the Nordic region, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young strongly supports the initiative.
To thrive in today´s economy, private and public sector organizations need to fully leverage their IT investments and seamlessly integrate their disparate systems – linking suppliers, partners and customers across the value chain – so as to prepare for future innovation.
SAP NetWeaver facilitates this continuous need for adaptation and innovation by making change sustainable through contained cost and reduced risk. By empowering IT to become an enabler of flexible business strategies. And by driving innovation into business processes across any given enterprise.
– “We live in a challenging environment where companies have to deliver the expected business value, and, indeed, SAP looks at technology from a pure business point of view. Our customers see the promise and capability of technology to unlock business value – a value that has been made all the more apparent with the introduction of SAP NetWeaver and our switch to an open, flexible and modular architecture”, states Emmanuelle Morice, regional manager of SAP Nordic.
– “Our recent studies indicate that the majority of SAP´s customers show interest in various parts of SAP NetWeaver already. And as a valued and trusted partner, our role in delivering on SAP NetWeaver is essential and will have great impact on the future benefits for companies throughout the Nordic region”, Nordic CEO of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, Alwyn Welch, emphasizes.
To turn this potential into reality, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and SAP Nordic have agreed to join forces on the Nordic market. The objective being to position Cap Gemini Ernst & Young as preferred partner in SAP NetWeaver for a number of selected industries and to support existing and potential SAP customers in obtaining the business benefits from implementing SAP NetWeaver. This means that a number of joint targets around certification of consultants, successful implementation projects and number of reference customers are well defined and will be tracked by both parties on a regular basis.
– “With this new enterprise services architecture, we believe that we are able to react much better to market requirements in the future – with speed, flexibility, a high level of user friendliness and lower cost. In the Nordic region, we have decided on a proactive strategy in terms of promoting and implementing SAP NetWeaver as one coherent integration and application platform, allowing a smart entry into the web services world to the enterprise community. From our long-term relationship with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young in the Nordics, we know this particular partner to be both innovative and result-driven, which leads us to believe that Cap Gemini Ernst & Young will be an excellent fit for many of our customers when it comes to unlocking the business benefits of SAP NetWeaver in the future”, Emmanuelle Morice comments.
– “The aim of our strategic leadership agreement is to introduce competent Cap
Gemini Ernst & Young consultants onto the market place with indepth knowledge
of SAP NetWeaver. In consequence, a concise element within the agreement is SAP´s
commitment to set up a NetWeaver training program as well as relevant offerings,
so as to enable a smart go-to-market model. In turn, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young
commits to establishing an SAP NetWeaver core team across Nordic, consisting of
minimum 150 certified NetWeaver consultants by the end of 2004. We already have
a concise practice established through our technology groups and feel confident
that the alliance between us and SAP will provide current and future customers
with a number of business benefits”, states Alwyn Welch.
